End of Month View

At the end of every month I try to take a photograph from the far corner of the front garden. For the first two years of blogging, I, along with scores of other garden bloggers, posted a link to Helen Johnstone’s ‘End Of Month View’ at The Patient Gardener. However, serial tardiness on my part led me to abandon this and begin a new series of my own, named ‘In the Garden’. I will continue to post this view on this page every month: I really enjoy both seeing the monthly transitions and also comparisons between the same month of different years.

The photographs start from November 2014, which is when we bought the flat. Scroll down to the bottom for the latest month’s photograph.

  1. That’s impressive Jo, the garden has come together beautifully. You’ve really got the knack of mixing annuals with perennials, and the result is opulent. Interesting to see how well your privet has recovered. You certainly gave it an arithmetic lesson.
Next year you can have pink and white tulips, crocuses, purple alliums, little blue irises, squills and real English bluebells. I’ve bought a bagful and you can take your pick.

  2. A great garden story. Glad you found me! I had visited Edinburgh many, many years ago, so I have an idea of what it is like and always have a visions of castles in Scotland.
