I’ve cheated on this one. They’re in a vase, and it’s Monday, but these beautiful cala lilies, heather fronds, hypericum berries, and sea hollies did not grow in my garden (nor indeed in any garden anywhere near Scotland, I shouldn’t think). But I wanted to show you these beautiful flowers because this was my wedding bouquet, which I was carrying on Saturday when I got married to the wonderful Brazilian.
So I hope you let me off cheating this week, and apologies for my absence over the past couple of months as I’ve been so busy organising our marriage. It turns out that even a simple wedding takes an extraordinary amount of time and energy to put together. I haven’t had a chance to share with you my November end of month view, or our trip to Drummond Castle, my tree following (you haven’t missed much; my tree is currently a soggy brown stick) or my new project at the back of the house. But I will be back after Christmas with lots of blog posts and plans and gardening updates from Edinburgh. Meanwhile, I wish you all a very merry Christmas full of joy, love, rest, and gardening!
In a vase on Monday is hosted by the magical Cathy at Rambling in the Garden.
Many many congratulations! And what on earth are you doing blogging two days later?
All the very best for a wonderful life together. 😀
Thanks… am just sitting back on the sofa, doing nothing and very much enjoying normality again!

Thank you Donna

Thank you Ann.
Oh what a fabulous bouquet! Wishing you much happiness in the years to come.
Thank you Anna
You kept that quiet! Many congratulations & have a very lovely Christmas.
Thank you!
I think we can forgive you for the beautiful bouquet in the vase in the circumstances – not sure about springing such a surprise on us though 😉 ! It was a most lovely surprise though and I trust your big day was everything you planned it to be and wish you every happiness in the future.
Congratulations to you both! What lovely news and what a beautiful bouquet! Where did you get married – if it was down in Edinburgh I could have come as I was down celebrating an early Christmas with my daughter. Wishing you every happiness in your future life together.
Congratulations to you and the Brazilian.
Congratulations! Parabéns pelo casamento!
Muito obrigada!
Congratulations Joanna! I was surprised when I first saw those lovely calla lilies at the top of your post – I couldn’t believe they could grow in Edinburgh in December but your explanation immediately cleared up the mystery. Best wishes for a happy life together!
Thank you! Yes, ideally we would have had British-grown flowers, perhaps even from the garden of a relative or friend, but marrying in December put paid to that idea. Apart from my bouquet, we kept things very simple and had just two large floral arrangements and nothing else, as I didn’t want too much flown in from across the sea, as unfortunately they must be at this time of year.
